Often mentioned as an acceptance of imperfection, this sentiment lends itself perfectly to understanding recovery from addiction and learning to accept the past and our imperfections. Childhood Friends the poem by the Sufi poet Rumi contains not just similar lines, but other examples that can be understood in terms of recovery, “don’t believe for a moment that you are healing yourself”, reflects the help we all need.
